Vincent Chin Middle School

Vincent Chin Middle School is not real. But its namesake, Vincent Chin, is real. He was a young, Chinese-American man, who was murdered in 1982 in Detroit, by two men shouting about his race and disappearing auto company jobs. His terrible death and the trial and sentencing that followed are considered the catalysts for bringing Asian-Americans together in an organized civil rights movement.
