Breanna Woodruff is not going to the team-building camp that starts 6th grade at Vincent Chin Middle School. She’s spent the whole summer deleting texts and emails from her mom’s phone and computer and burying pamphlets under the tall nettles in the back yard so that her mom never finds out about camp.
Breanna can’t go to camp. She is fearless. Everybody knows that. It’s her whole reputation. Except of course, she isn’t. She’s terrified of heights--with good reason.
The big deal of team-building camp is the Sky Ropes, the highest high ropes course east of the Mississippi. If she’s there and doesn’t do the Sky Ropes, kids are going to notice. They might figure out that she is afraid.
