The City of Hamtramck

Hamtramck, where Gran lives, is real, a city separate from Detroit but almost almost completely surrounded by it. It was long a center of the Polish-American life in the area. It is now a predominately Muslim city, part of the rich diversity that continues to characterize the greater Detroit area.
